¡¡¡¡The Dragon Boat Festival falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, when Qu Yuan jumped into Miluo River and ended his life. Qu Yuan was a dafu in the state of Chu. As a result of his failure in politics, he was driven out of Chu. Sad and angry, he drowned himself in the river. Hearing the news, people sadly rowed to get his body but failed. To save the body from the fish, people threw the bamboo cans with rice (Zongzi) into the river to distract their attention. Since then, people have always rowed dragon boats on rivers in memory of Qu Yuan on that day every year£¬and thus Zongzi become the traditional food of the Dragon Boat Festival.

¡¡¡¡China is home to tea. The Chinese people have started drinking tea since 4700 years ago. As is known to all, China is a nation with ancient civilization. We attach great importance to etiquette, and tea is always served when we show our welcome and respect to the guests. Over tea, people can communicate and develop friendship with each other in a pleasant atmosphere. There are different kinds of tea in China’s market. For example, Green Tea (Longjing) is unfermented tea while Black Tea (Dahongpao), belongs to fermented tea. Both of them are selectively used to conduct our experiments. According to our study, we find that drinking tea continuously is beneficial to the human body in many aspects: lower blood sugar, weight loss, refreshing, and also improving the capacity to memorize. Welcome to taste Chinese tea.

¡¡¡¡The flag of the People's Republic of China is a red field charged in the canton with five golden stars. The design features one large star, with four smaller stars in a semicircle set off towards the fly. The red represents the communist revolution; the five stars and their relationship represent the unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Sometimes, the flag is referred to as the "Five-star Red Flag"

¡¡¡¡Waking up on the Spring Festival, everybody dresses up. First children extend greetings to their parents. Then each child will get money as a New Year gift, wrapped in red paper. People in northern China will eat jiaozi, or dumplings, for breakfast, as they think "jiaozi" in sound means "bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new". Also, the shape of the dumpling is like gold ingot from ancient China. So people eat them and wish for money and treasure.

¡¡¡¡Cultural dining practices vary in different countries. In China, the main meal is usually at noon, ranging from 11a.m to 1p.m, the dinner is always simplified as a result of health culture of China. However, Americans’ main meals are usually in the evening, from 5p.m to 7p.m. When I was staying in my homestay, I found some differences between Chinese diet and American diet. For convenience, Americans prefer Hamburgers, fried chicken, pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs and pork chops, which are high in fat and energy. After the dinner, many Americans would like to have a cup of coffee or some desserts. Compared with Americans most Chinese people attach great importance to balanced diet as well as some fresh fruits after the dinner.
