One of the greatest inventions in history is the invention of the World Wide Web by Tim Berners-Lee.

Berners-Lee was born on June 8, 1955 in London. Both his parents were mathematicians (数学家) and were members of a team ① built one of the earliest computers, the Manchester MarkⅠ. With the help of his parents, he did very ② in maths.

At Oxford University, he built a computer with and old television. After graduating in physics in 1976, he went to work for a company called Plessey Controls Limited in Poole.
