气候特征

黄河一带开始下雪。通常是小雪，夜晚结冰到了第二天早上便融化了。土壤还不够寒冷，所以在地面上无法形成积雪。在这段时间，不再出现彩虹，因为不再降雨了。

Some areas along the Yellow River start to snow. It’s usually light snow, freezing in the night and melting in the morning. The soil is not cold enough, and snow can’t accumulate a lot on the ground. During this period, the rainbow is gone since it doesn’t rain anymore.

传统习俗

晒鱼干 dry fish

小雪时台湾中南部海边的渔民们会开始晒鱼干、储存乾粮。乌鱼群会在小雪前后来到台湾海峡，另外还有旗鱼、沙鱼等。

台湾俗谚：十月豆，肥到不见头，是指在嘉义县布袋一带，到了农历十月可以捕到“豆仔鱼”。

During minor snow, fishermen along the coast of south-central Taiwan begin to dry fish and store dry food. Schools of mullet fish come to the Taiwan Strait around light snow, along with sailfish, sand fish, and so on. Taiwan common saying: October beans, fat to the head, refers to the area in Chiayi County cloth bag, to the lunar calendar month can be caught "beanlards".

吃刨汤Eating "Goutang"

小雪前后，土家族群众又开始了一年一度的“杀年猪，迎新年”民俗活动，给寒冷的冬天增添了热烈的气氛。吃“刨汤”，是土家族的风俗习惯；在“杀年猪，迎新年”民俗活动中，用热气尚存的上等新鲜猪肉，精心烹饪而成的美食称为“刨汤”。
